Kipp does solo performances (guitar and voice) that boast a variety of different musical styles. In her hands, simple guitar and vocal songs are re-interpreted as bossa nova, soul, blues, and R&B.
She has also worked as a freelance guitarist for bands backing international artists — think about a live performance by one of your favorite artists: his or her backing band is made up of freelance musicians — before beginning to do solo performances in earnest. For more than a decade, she worked and toured with reggae bands and artists. Some of the artists she has worked with include The Wailing Souls, Israel Vibration, The Itals, Foundation, Freddie McGregor, Al Campbell, Don Carlos, Leroy Sibbles, Eek-a-Mouse, Mikey Dread, Ras Michael, Donovan, Lady Saw, Admiral Bailey, Professor Nuts, Mr. Vegas, Lexxus, Wendy Shaw, Pato Banton, Andrew Tosh, Junior Reid, Daddy U-Roy, Glen Washington, Rocky Dawuni, Barbara Paige, Bernie Larsen, Smoothie Jones, Swelele, Professor Einstein, Buppy Brown, Jahmali, Stranger Cole, Johnny Osbourne, Sugar Black, Shinehead, Wayne Wonder, Don Carlos, Jerri Jheto, James Ide, and Prezident Brown.
Kipp was the resident guitarist and vocalist for Lynwood United Methodist Church, where for several years she played gospel music for services and special events.
In 2016, she started working with an ensemble called Island Serenade (IslandSerenade.com) with steel drummer and vocalist, Greg Paxton. The music is a combination of pop music -- Sting, Stevie Wonder, the Beatles, Bill Withers, etc. -- and a classic form of dance music from Trinidad called "soca" (if you've heard "Feelin' hot, hot, hot!", then you've heard soca).
Kipp received her musical education from Laney College in Oakland, and Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA. She attended El Camino College to study digital studio recording, where she took classes in Logic Pro (a digital recording platform), and piano.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and Culture from the University of California at Santa Cruz .
